A step-by-step online reading program created by two experienced and highly trained reading specialists!


The LIFT OFF! to Literacy program consists of a balanced mix of interactive and engaging video lessons and paper/pencil practice. During an initial video call, we will assess your child and personalize their lesson path in the program. 

 

We've done the hard work for you. All you have to do is hit "Play."

How the Program Works:

1. Enroll

Enroll your child  >>HERE<< in the LIFT OFF! to Literacy program. Pat yourself on the back for taking an important first step in boosting your child's reading skills! 👏🏻

2. Schedule

Upon enrollment, you will be prompted to schedule your 15 minute video call with Erin or Kally. We will meet with you and your child, complete a quick assessment, and place your child on a personalized learning path in the program! (NOTE: If you would like to complete the assessment on your own, contact us and we'll get you everything you need.)

4. Receive

Your child's printed materials will arrive in your mailbox in a fun package! You'll receive everything you need for the 5-week session of lessons: weekly checklists, word lists, spelling pages, decodable readers, and more!

3. Explore

While you wait for your printed materials to arrive, you'll have access to the program so that you and your child can explore and familiarize yourself. Be sure to watch the "Getting Started" video and then get excited!

5. Begin

For your child's lessons, all you need to do is gather the needed printed materials and hit "play" on the video lesson. We'll do all the teaching for you! You'll see your child using arm motions, interacting with the content, reading aloud, using tactile spelling strategies and much more!

6. Evaluate

At the end of your child's 5-week session of lessons, you can choose if you'd like to enroll your child in the next 5-week session.

Printed Lesson Materials:

Decodable Word List

At the end of the Day 1 lesson, your child will practice reading a decodable word list. We model how to code the words, scoop and read the phrases, and read the sentences with fluency. Three smiley faces on each list are a visual reminder for your child to practice reading through the page three times total.

Encoding Page

During the Day 2 lesson, your child will practice writing sounds, words and a sentence. We teach your child how to use tactile spelling strategies to sound out and spell each word. Then, we have your child write a dictated sentence independently, lead them through a C.O.P.S. checklist for editing, and finally check the sentence together!

Decodable Reader

At the end of the Day 2 lesson, a decodable reader is introduced. Your child can find, highlight, and read all of the words with the new pattern before reading. Each decodable reader features interesting illustrations and a storyline that makes sense! The back of each reader includes three comprehension questions for discussion, and a chart of sight words, vocabulary words to preview, and words containing the new pattern.

"My To Do List" 

Each new concept includes a to-do list of tasks. Your child can check off each task as they complete it. At the bottom of each to-do list is a customizable coupon that helps to keep your child motivated and working towards their reward!

We're both Certified Academic Language Practitioners and Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionists with a genuine interest in seeing students succeed. We are passionate about helping families and teachers lower their stress levels around teaching their children to read.
